When was the last time you were caught being good? Alternatively, when was the last time you were caught being bad? Which is a more likely occurrence in your life? The title of this post comes from an innovative app for those Apple people–you know who you are. Alternatively, the poster on the left comes from a more scissors and paper approach to the same idea.
The idea being to focus on good behavior rather than bad.

So says Dan Pink in his podcast interview with author of “Eat, Move, Sleep” Tom Rath. Many people in the business world will be familiar with Rath’s considerable past works–Strengths Finder, How Full is Your Bucket–but what they might not be familiar with is that Tom was given, at age 16, the unwelcome news that a rare genetic disorder made it so that it was likely that he would spend his life battling cancer. In a admirable testament to the “What doesn’t kill me makes me stronger” Tom has spent much of his life recognizing the significant impact of each moment to moment decision on our health and on our quality of life. He has also, in his uber-researcher style, has amassed a fortune of cutting edge scientific data on what actually makes our lives better. In this generous heaping-helping sharing of his fortune we can all take away a plethora of ideas that can greatly improve our lives.
